FASS News: Science Policy Program

On December 15, 2015 the following letter was sent to AETA from FASS:

Since 2009, FASS has hosted a science policy program to create a voice for animal science, funded by the American Dairy Science Association®, American Society of Animal Science, and Poultry Science Association. The success of this program has been driven by an effective partnership between The Randel Group and active participation by committed members of the FASS Science Policy Committee. The Randel Group represents FASS in Washington, DC as well as at other events and meetings throughout the country. Representatives to the FASS Science Policy Committee have been appointed from the three groups noted above as well as the ADSA-ASAS Midwest.

The vision of this program is to serve as the “go to” source and communicator of policies that are founded in sound science and to promote FASS as a leading authority on issues across the animal sciences at the local, state, regional, national, and global levels.

I am happy to announce that effective January 1, 2016, the advocacy program is being expanded to benefit all FASS animal science clients. AETA can participate simply because you are a valued partner.

This new FASS client benefit comes at no cost to AETA or its members. However, if AETA would like to make a contribution to the program, FASS will gladly accept it. In addition, there may be opportunities for FASS animal science clients to participate, directly, on the FASS Science Policy Committee. Jamie Ritter will follow up with you to determine your interest and preferences for disseminating program outputs to your members.

Thank you for being a FASS client, and best wishes for the holidays.

Sincerely,
Scott Rankin
FASS President
