What a great 2013 AETA annual meeting! I thoroughly enjoyed the time that I spent listening to and interacting with veterinarians and scientists from around the world. Coming into the meeting I wanted to refresh, expand, and further my knowledge of embryo transfer and other reproductive technologies. I was also seeking to network with veterinarians and industry leaders from around the world. I really gained a lot from the ET 101 session and will be able to use that knowledge in my future practice in addition to sharing it with my current colleagues.

The talks on data management and donor/recipient management were two of my favorites. The data management information will apply to all parts of my veterinary career, especially when it comes to record keeping and creating useful databases. After talking with other students at the conference, I decided that it would be a good idea to set up a wet lab for our SCAABP club at NCSU. With the help of local veterinarians, I hope to create a lab where we can demonstrate and practice certain techniques, including flushing and transfer. I want to thank the AETA organization for the opportunity and financial support they provided, because I will definitely be a better veterinarian because of this conference.

Sincerely,

Patrick Brinson
