AETA 2010 Student Scholarship Award

I am one of the privileged students that obtained the sponsorship by the AETA to assist to the 2010 AETA/CETA Convention in North Carolina. It was an exceptional opportunity to complement my professional, academic and research goals, which focus in food animal reproduction and biotechnologies with an emphasis in embryo collection and embryo transfer. I am particularly interested in perfecting embryo collection and transfer procedures. I enjoy keeping up-to-date on developments within this technology, therefore attending to the American Embryo Transfer Association Annual Meeting allowed me to learn about new and more efficient techniques applied country-wide.

All my expectations for this internationally recognized conference were meet. I greatly benefited from the AETA’s educational forum, the speaker’s knowledge, the contact with members of the association and sponsors.

At present, as resident in the food animal reproduction program at the University of California, Davis my novel knowledge will benefit veterinary students that I am responsible for as part of their senior year rotations. My master’s project has been also enriched by information provided in this meeting and in addition, my interests and passion in the embryo transfer world has been reinforced with this experience.

Moreover, I had a great time in the meeting. I enjoyed the environment, the kindness and friendship, and had the feeling that to this community I belong.

Thank you for this opportunity, see you in the future,

Catalina Cabrera
